Compatibility is determined by the existing connection dimensions—not by mattress size or bed style alone. Before ordering, remove and measure the original hardware when possible. Compare the plate length, width and thickness; the center-to-center hook spacing; hook projection and backset; mounting-pin positions; and the dimensions of the mortise in the wooden rail. These plates are not universal. They are not intended to convert a bolt-on metal bed frame into a hook-on frame, and they will not fit interlocking surface-mount brackets unless the complete connection geometry matches. For replacement work, inspect the wooden rail and bedpost for cracks, enlarged holes or damaged receiving pins. Replacing the metal plate alone will not correct weakened or split wood. For new construction, accurate slot cutting and pin-hole alignment are required. Furniture-repair or woodworking experience is recommended. Keep the bed unloaded during installation. Confirm that both hooks seat fully and that the side rails are level before installing the slats, foundation or mattress.
