Holiday Cleaning Tips: Welcoming Guests Into The Home Without The Angst!
It is genuinely kickoff time for the upcoming holiday season & festivities. Therefore, advancing a cleaning plan for welcoming holiday guests is critical for maintaining one’s sanity. So, without judgment, let’s visit a few areas of a home.
Let’s begin from the front door: this entrance needs to be formally checked for dust, cobwebs, & fingerprints.
Next, the welcome floor mat in front of the doorway requires vacuuming: then, it is ready to capture the dirt & soil from the bottom of arriving guests’ shoes.
- Light fixtures, if applicable, need to be dusted & cleaned
- Door frames and the door’s body need to be dust & fingerprint-free.
- Check the surrounding floor surface and clean as needed.
Upon entering the home, the foyer or open area needs a quick overview, and adjustments can be made as you see fit. Another Ask Cindy Tip: taking a cell phone picture of any room or space reveals a snapshot for your eyes alone. Accurately you can adjust items & cleanup accordingly. Special note: The photograph can be an eye-opening reveal; trust me on this!
Vacuum all baseboard and floor surfaces, then damp wipe the baseboards & next damp mop the floors. This simple refresher revitalizes the air quality since the heated home has been closed up for winter.
Last but not insignificant, bring in the immensely popular germ eliminator in a bottle; strategically place hand sanitizer in the kitchen, bathroom, and sitting areas. This additional option adds to the safety measures as you enjoy your guests and the festive activities within your home.
These clean-up shines served many of my customers well. Implementing these holiday cleaning tips will allow you to enjoy the welcome to my home event without worrying about the general disorder within targeted rooms or areas. Good luck!
Sincerely,
Cindy
